Quick answer: yes, cheats work on iPhone and iPad. In the Definitive Edition (the Netflix and App Store version), tap the mini-map, open Options > Accessibility > Enter Cheat Code, and type a code such as INEEDSOMEHELP (health, armor and $250,000). You don't need a physical keyboard: the button opens the on-screen keyboard. With a controller connected you can also use the console button combos.
The iOS codes are the same word codes PC players have used for years, so the full list below works as written. Cheats can switch off achievements and a few can break missions, so read the warnings further down before you use them on your main save.

How to use cheats in GTA San Andreas on iOS (iPhone & iPad)
Entering cheats in GTA San Andreas for iOS (iPhone and iPad) is simple:
- Pause the game by pressing on the mini-map at the top-left of your iPhone or iPad screen.
- From the choices on the left menu, select Options.
- From the choices at the top tabs, select Accessibility.
- Scroll down and select Enter cheat code.
- Using the keyboard that pops up, type in the cheat code you want to use.
Can you use cheats on iPhone without a keyboard?
Yes, in the Definitive Edition. The Enter Cheat Code button in the Accessibility menu brings up the normal on-screen keyboard, so you type codes with your fingers like any text box. You don't need a Bluetooth keyboard or a cheat app, and you don't need to jailbreak.
Type the code exactly as listed, in one go and without spaces. If the game accepts it, a "Cheat Activated" message appears in the top-left corner. If nothing appears, the code was mistyped.
The older 2013 mobile version has no cheat menu at all. That's why it needs an external keyboard (see "What if you don't have the Enter Cheat Code menu item?" below).
How to enter GTA San Andreas cheats on iOS with a controller
If you play the Definitive Edition with a paired PlayStation or Xbox controller, you can enter the classic console cheats as button sequences during gameplay, no menu needed. For example, health, armor and $250,000 is:
- Xbox controller: RB, RT, LB, A, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up
- PlayStation controller: R1, R2, L1, Cross, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up
Use the D-pad for the directions, not the stick. The word codes in the table above still work with a controller connected; you just type them with the on-screen keyboard. To pair a controller first, follow our mobile controller setup guide.
Why isn't my cheat working on iPhone?
- Wrong version: no "Enter Cheat Code" option means you're on the classic 2013 port, which has no cheat menu.
- Typo: codes must be typed exactly. Autocorrect can change a code before it's sent, so check what you typed.
- Typed at the wrong moment: on keyboard versions, codes only work during gameplay. Typing them on the pause screen does nothing.
- Wanted-level conflicts: "raise wanted level" does nothing while the "lock wanted level" cheat is on.
Cheats that can break missions or your save
A few cheats have known side effects. Avoid these on a save you care about:
- Pedestrian riot and "pedestrians attack you" cheats become permanent if you save while they're on.
- Health and money (INEEDSOMEHELP) fails the bike chase in Just Business and the drive-by in End of the Line.
- Lock wanted level can stop the Mike Toreno mission from progressing. Turn it off before that mission.
- Destroy all cars during Reuniting the Families blows up Sweet's car with CJ inside.
- Flying cars: drive into water with it on and CJ gets stuck in the car and drowns.
The safest habit is to keep one clean save and do all your cheating on a copy.
⚠️ Warning: Before you use cheats in GTA San Andreas on iOS
Entering cheats into the iOS version of San Andreas will prevent you from getting achievements. If you want to get achievements while playing normally, create a backup save to return to.
It is wise to create a new save file before messing around with cheats. When you are ready to complete the game normally, you will be glad you kept a clean save file.
What if you don’t have the “Enter Cheat Code” menu item?
If you don’t see this menu item, you may be playing on the classic iOS version of the game. This means that you won’t be able to enter cheat codes through the pause menu, but you can still cheat!
The simplest way to enter cheats on classic GTA San Andreas for iOS is with an external keyboard. Pair a Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard to your iPhone or iPad, and type cheats directly during gameplay without pausing.
How to claim GTA San Andreas on Mobile through Netflix?
To get your copy of GTA San Andreas on mobile, open your Netflix account app on your device. Tap your profile and navigate to the Games tab at the bottom of the screen. Search for GTA: San Andreas and follow the link to your app store to download the game for free with your Netflix subscription.
Fixing “Your device isn’t compatible with this version”
If you see this message on the App Store, it means your device or iOS version needs an update. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the latest update.
Try downloading the game again. If it still shows as unsupported, try playing on a newer iPhone model or iPad device.
What are the best GTA San Andreas cheats for iOS?
